Uploading lots of new torrents is the best way to share with the community, move up the ranks, and earn the love and adoration of staff and other members. But for various reasons this is sometimes hard or impossible for some users. While we make uploading here as easy as possible, there's another way you can contribute in a valuable way - adoption!

Adopting a torrent means taking all the same responsibilities as an uploader (permanent, regular seeding) without the risk of creating the torrent incorrectly or breaking the rules or the need to find content elsewhere.

Therefore - as of today - adopted torrents can help you climb the user ranks here at ANT! You will need twice as many completed adoptions as the equivalent number of uploads to reach a user rank, and the higher ranks still require some original uploads, but as long as you keep those films-a-seeding, you can start to experience the perks of higher ranks and be a more active member of the community!

How it works:

    [*] Adoptions must be completed (2-week foster period finished) and will then count as half an upload (note most classes will require several rounds of fostering due to limits on simultaneous fostering)
    [*] If you re-list a torrent for adoption, it no longer counts (no demotions...yet, but it might be in the cards if this system gets abused)
    [*] Uploads + adoptions combine for the requirement
    [*] Some classes still require a minimum # of uploads before you can start counting adoptions (see wiki)


So, a member can upgrade to power user (which requires 5 uploads) with 10 completed adoptions.
A power user must first upload 1 torrent, but then can upgrade to Fanatic (25 upload requirement) with 48 completed adoptions.
A power user with 15 uploads can upgrade to Fanatic with only 20 completed adoptions (15 + 20/2 = 25)

It will take you a bit longer to go the adoption route, but if you can keep some old torrents from dying, it will be well worth it! It might also help you obtain the upgrade orbs that might have just been a bit inflation-adjusted.
