It's Redacted's 4th Birthday! As the RED team reflects on the past twelve months we can't help but think about the unknown challenges hiding around the corner last year at this time.We hope you and your loved ones are safe and well, and for those of you who are struggling through this time we sincerely wish you our best.As we head into another year we hope better times are ahead for all, and although most of us here may never meet in the real world, we hope you'll soon be able to go out into it again safely.

Until then we'd like to do our best to help you pass the time in the best way we know how - by listening to some new and awesome music!Below please find recommendations from our all-volunteer staff, who give untold hours of their own time to keep the site up and running. We've also included recommendations from some of our donors, without whom we would not be able to keep our site's infrastructure up and running.

For grabbing these or any other releases you would like (see conditions below), please enjoy  50 freeleech tokens which you should now see added to your account!Important note:As always, remember RED Rec's are not freeleech.

All About Freeleech Tokens: ShowAs always, Freeleech Tokens should be used with the following in mind:

[*]The tokens will expire on January 31, 2021 23:59 UTC. If you don't use them, you will lose them.[*]There is a 2 GB torrent size limit. You will not be able to use them on anything larger.[*]Collages and forum posts centered around the maximizing of file size freeleech token downloads and buffer trading are not allowed. We feel this goes against the spirit of freeleech tokens: the pursuit of your own musical interests and exploration. Users should not feel they have to strategize the best possible use for tokens, or put off using them and possibly forget about them until it's too late. The best strategy is to use them soon for something you want to listen to.

Note: While freeleech tokens do not affect your download, they may affect your required ratio. For more information about these tokens, please look here.

To use these tokens, search for the torrent that you'd like. If it's under 2 GB, you should see the "FL" button, which allows you to use one token on that torrent to make it a personal freeleech for yourself. After clicking the "FL" and confirming, download the torrent normally.

Here's what it would look like with the "FL" button (bordered with purple for emphasis, will not actually show purple):

Color Therapy - Mr. Wolf Is Dead (2015)

Genre:Electronic

Review:  Color Therapy is the nom de plume for a Dallas-based producer/composer/engineer who values his anonymity, despite having already done official remixes for the likes of Mogwai, Nils Frahm and Peter Broderick. Color Therapy makes an impressive debut with instrumental full-length “Mr. Wolf Is Dead.”

"It was like a high no drug can induce,” Color Therapy says of composing the 14-track, 48-minute platter. “I found myself making music in order to deal with the things around me I couldn’t control, almost like the creative process was a therapy session. Each song is like a morphine drip.”

He enlists support from some high-profile collaborators on “Mr. Wolf Is Dead,” including The Album Leaf (“Terrarium”), Helios (“Challenger Deep”), Ulrich Schnauss (“Expect Delays”) and Hammock (“Ballad of Lonely Ghosts”). Those joint ventures provide some of the best material on the album, but Color Therapy handles things nicely all by himself on keepers “Drive vs. Fly,” “Screw Eyes,” “The Dusk Mother” and “Moonlight in the Mouth.” If you like electronic music, this is an album worth exploring. Bayonne - Drastic Measures (2019)

Genre: Electronic, ambient, live looping

Review: This is all you need to know. This clip will sell you on Bayonne and his music harder than Martin Sheen sold you on The West Wing. Do it now.

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade (2006)

Genre: alternative.rock, emo, pop.punk

Review: This album holds a very, very special place in my heart. I had this album on repeat when I was struggling with addiction, going through withdrawals and finally getting sober. 10 years later, I'm living my best sober life, and this album still is one I regularly put on repeat. There isn't a bad song on this entire album.

Buckshot LeFonque - Buckshot LeFonque (1994)

Genre: Soul, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk

Review:  Lots of records are touted as breakthroughs by the hype machines and spinmasters, but this one really is -- a marvelously playful and, above all, musical fusion of the old jazz verities and newer currents swirling around the 1990s. "Buckshot LeFonque" was a pseudonym for Cannonball Adderley in the 1950s, and you'll squint long and hard trying to find Branford's name on the jacket and cover except for the tiny note, "Produced by B. Marsalis." Maybe he was hedging his bets against the expected (and received) flak from the jazz purists, but the reality is that he has found a brilliant way to fuse hip-hop rhythms with mainstream jazz licks without compromising either idiom. Ifriqiyya Electrique - Laylet El Booree (2019)

Genre: post industrial, north african ritual music

Review: Ifriqiyya Electrique is a fusion between European musicians steeped in the methods of post-industrial music collaborating with performers in the traditions of northwest African tribal music. The overall feel is that you are listening to ritual music for rites you don't understand and are an invited — but unimportant — guest of.This is powerful, affecting, driving music.

Nirvana - The Existence of Chance Is Everything and Nothing While the Greatest Achievement Is the Living of Life, and so Say ALL OF US

Genre: Alternative, Rock, Psychedelic Rock

Torrents: Nirvana - All of Us (1968)

Review: Some still don't know that the 90s Nirvana ripped off a UK band's name. Turns out the original band is damn good! Looking for something like The Beatles but arguably better? Here you are

Honeyhoney - Billy Jack (2011)

Genre: folk.rock,blues.rock,folk

Review: Suzanne Santo has the most hauntingly beautiful voice I have ever heard. Suzanne's harmonies with Ben are mesmerizing. Her lyric and vocal on L.A. River is simply breathtaking:

Oh, but I love my new home
Listen to the big city cound
Watching that LA river roll down
By the trains past ChinatownWhile not honeyhoney's first album, Billy Jack is the one that introduced me to this duo and continues to be one of my favorite albums of all time.

Torrents: Poppy - I Disagree (2020)

Review: I didn't know I was a pop fan.. until I discovered Poppy. This dystopian album packs quite a punch and I think it represents the year 2020 quite well.

Grateful Dead - May 1977: Get Shown The Light

Genre: Psychedelic, Jam.band, rock

Torrents: Grateful Dead - May 1977: Get Shown The Light (2017)

Review: I was fortunate enough to catch the last two shows in this release. I was looking forward to hearing Terrapin & Estimated Prophet, both of which the band started playing live this spring. Got Estimated, but no Terrrapin. The guys and the audience had a special connection in Barton Hall and they rocked out in Buffalo the next night.
